In 1921, Lou Deppen founded Cork Insulated Company in the Chicago area, installing cork and plaster insulation systems for the region's growing industrial base. As the construction industry evolved — moving from natural cork and plaster to modern insulated metal panel (IMP) systems — so did the company.
In 1980, Lou's son Robert Deppen Sr. took the helm and renamed the company Insulated Panel Company (IPANCO), reflecting the shift to the high-performance metal panel systems that have become the industry standard for cold storage, food processing, and industrial facilities.
Today, IPANCO continues the Deppen family tradition: a hands-on approach to every project, long-term relationships with general contractors and facility owners, and an unwavering commitment to quality installation.
